Co-Q-10 - A Key To Our Body's

Co-enzyme Q-10 is a fat soluble vitamin-like substance that is found in minute amounts in a variety of foods and although it is synthesized in all tissues, it is found in greater percentages in the heart muscle.

The biosynthesis of Co-Q-10 from the amino acid Tyrosine, is a multi-stage process requiring at least eight vitamins and several trace minerals. Co-enzymes are co-factors upon which large and complex enzymes absolutely depend for their function. Co-Q-10 is the Co-enzyme for at least three mitochondrial enzymes, as well as enzymes in other parts of the cell. Mitochondrial enzymes are essential for the production of the high-energy phosphate, adenosine triphosphate (ATP), upon which all cellular functions depend. Co-Q-10 is critical in the Electron and Proton transfer function, fundamental to all life forms - animals, plants and bacteria.

CO-ENZYME Q-10 DEFICIENCY
Normal blood and tissue levels of Co-Q-10 have been well established by numerous investigators around the world. Significantly decreased levels of Co-Q-10 have been noted in a wide variety of diseases in both animals and human studies. Co-Q-10 deficiency may be caused by insufficient dietary Co-Q-10, impairment in Co-Q-10 biosynthesis, excessive utilization of Co-Q-10 by the body, or a combination of the three. Dr. Karl Folkers takes the position that the dominant source of Co-Q-10 in Man is biosynthesis. This complex 17 step process using all the B-Complex vitamins including several trace elements, is, by its nature, highly vulnerable. Dr. Folkers argues that average "normal" levels of Co-Q-10 are really sub-optimal and the very low levels observed in advanced disease states, represent on the tip of the deficiency "ice berg".

Co-Q-10 is known to be highly concentrated in heart muscle cells due to the high energy requirements of this cell type. For the past 14 years, the great bulk of clinical work with Co-Q-10 has focused on heart disease. Specifically congestive heart failure has been strongly correlated with significantly low blood and tissue levels of Co-Q-10. The severity of heart failure correlates with the severity of Co-Q-10 deficiency. This deficiency of Co-Q-10 appears to be a major treatable factor in the progression of heart failure.

According to Dr. Julian Whitaker, Co-Q-10 is the most powerful treatment of cardiomyopathy available. He states that it increases the survival rate of cardiomyopathy patients tenfold, compared to the combined therapy of ACE inhibitors, diuretics and digitalis drugs. Several trials showed the gradual and sustained improvement in the blood pumped out of the heart as well as improvement in fatigue, chest pain and palpitations.

Internationally, there have been at least nine placebo controlled studies on the treatment of heart disease with Co-Q-10. All nine of these studies have confirmed the effectiveness of Co-Q-10 as well as its remarkable safety.

Summary: The relative bioavailability of typical commercially available forms of Co-Enzyme Q-10 including other softgels, was compared with Morganics Q-Gel(r) Biosolv(tm) Co-Q-10, a new form of Co-Q-10, in human subjects in two separate trials, performed at the new York Medical College.The data from both trials show that Q-Gel, delivers 300% greater plasma levels of Co-Q-10 compared to all other Co-enzyme Q-10 products. Estrogen - heart health link questioned by new study

Challenging a medical doctrine that has stood for two decades, a recent study found no evidence that estrogen supplements protect women from heart disease. Other recent studies conclude that estrogen patches, pills and injections cause breast cancer. This is not new news since the manufacturers of the drugs themselves have stated these side effects. Why not "sleep easy" at night and concentrate on clinically proven safe and sound methods of protection against heart disease such as vitamin C, E, Essential Fatty Acids, B complex vitamins, minerals and certain amino acids? Benefits of using nutrients in prevention of cardiovascular disease, Is that these factors are also essential in building and maintaining bone density. It just so happens that these same nutrients help to keep adrenal glands functioning normally, which are a pre-requisite to building collagen. Collagen makes up some 90% of bone. Collagen also helps maintain elasticity of blood vessels and skin. Collagen is the glue that holds all cells together. Unlike estrogen replacement, these nutrients can only help.

Are Our Health Food Stores Threatened?

In 1996 Congress passed, and the President signed into law, the health insurance bill and it was hailed a great victory for we the people. However, the bill contained what is termed a "rider", a small amount of information that was passed quietly, without much fuss, that undid everything we worked for, to keep the FDA from interfering in our use of vitamins and herbs and our right to choose "alternative" health products. The "rider" was not from the FDA but from the World Health Organization Codex Program! For those of you who have been kept in the dark, Codex is a body of self appointed authorities manipulated by the big drug companies of the world, under the auspices of the World Health Organization.

The FDA apparently now has the authority to close down all health food stores and you would require a doctor's prescription for vitamins, herbs and other food supplements. It sounds bizarre, but this is part of the United Nations World Health Organization Codex program to control all food and dietary supplements worldwide. The program is REQUIRED by all signatories of the GATT treaty. In Norway, the government passed into law this identical program and already they have closed down half of all the health food stores. Similar trends are taking place in South Africa. Call your congressman and find out what's going on. I hope we are not caught napping.

Have you noticed lately, the almost insane, one sided reports that have been emanating from newspapers and in headlines on the internet, negative reports about nutrients such as vitamin C and how dangerous herbs and other supplements are, and that children of rich parents are malnourished because they feed them protein bars for snacks!

What this spells for me, is that this is part of an ongoing agenda, to soften-up the public so that we ultimately accept the drug companies control of the herbal and vitamin market so that "they can protect us from dangerous herbs and vitamin abuse". Frankly, I would prefer not to be protected by companies that have caused untold damage to mass populations over the past decades by selling their lousy drugs to unsuspecting people thinking that they are getting "medication".

Medical drugs alone cause more than one hundred thousand deaths a year in America alone! That's not to mention the millions of negative and dangerous side effects from medical drugs. I am still unaware of anyone dying from taking a vitamin or mineral. Granted, the herb ephedra can cause heart palpitations, but that's one herb which by the way, has physiological benefits for certain ailments. Ephedra has been used for thousands of years. According to Dr. Methias Rath M.D., "of the 24,000 drugs on the market, only 2% work". The rest only produce negative side effects including cancer and a myriad of other serious problems.

The most widely prescribed blood pressure drug (calcium channel blockers) cause cancer in 72% of the people who use them for 7 years or more. This is just one of 24,000 drugs.

An end in sight to consumer abuse

Coke's sales are down, profits collapsing, and 6,000 employees soon will be gone. The tragedy is stupendously larger than 6,000 jobs; it affects hundreds of millions of unwarned, innocent, afflicted consumers across the broad face of planet Earth. This crisis can't be solved by belt tightening, greater efficiency, more advertising etc. It's so bad, Coke can't say the word; to pronounce it will bring instant cataclysm. That word is ASPARTAME, and their only recourse is denial, though every ad and commercial builds higher the scaffold upon which Coke will surely hang. Reality is in that twisted Diet Coke can. It's poison. It's killing the unborn, raining tumors and seizures on the population, destroying children, incapacitating workers, mimicking MS, erasing memory and blinding.

Inexorably Diet Coke visits a plague of 92 symptoms listed by our FDA on a secret report they'll never show which names diet soda as the first source of aspartame disease. And yes, DEATH was one of the 92. Diet Coke is poison. And it's addictive; some victims drink several liters a day and keep it on their nightstands. If Coke changes the formula to remove aspartame, the world's surge of hatred and vengeance by the disabled and bereaved shall certainly destroy Coca Cola. The poison in Diet Coke is aspartame.

As a member of the National Soft Drink Association, Coke opposed FDA approval of aspartame for beverages. Their objections published in the Congressional Record of 5/7/85, said aspartame is uniquely and inherently unstable and breaks down in the can. It decomposes into formaldehyde, methyl alcohol, formic acid, diketopiperazine, and other toxins. In a study on 7 monkeys, 5 had grand mal seizures and one died, a casualty rate of 86%. Coke knew; and knowing, broke their good faith contract with customers. Dissatisfied with selling flavored sugar water plus phosphoric acid, they switched to pushing an addictive formula called "Diet". Addictive substances multiply markets, so Diet Coke soared off the sales charts, spreading obesity in its flight. We're fatter because aspartame suppresses seratonin and makes us crave carbohydrates. So why is aspartame/NutraSweet/Equal/Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi/etc. still in the market and in thousands of foods? Can you say CORRUPTION?

Worldwide consumer action has exposed aspartame and millions have kicked the habit. Coke's profits are down 37% and for one year, Monsanto has been trying to sell the NutraSweet company. Finally they sold for $125 million. Now Monsanto faces a $71 million lawsuit for exaggerating profits. Monsanto stock is in the toilet, but they may have found a buyer in the Swiss firm Pharmacia-Upjohn. P.U. for short! The plans are to ditch the Monsanto name as its stench is unendurable. CEO Bob Shapiro may soon be history, like Doug Ivester of Coke who just resigned. Will the last one out please turn out the lights!
